Allow players to dive onto live grenades to take more damage themself but reduce damage to teammates nearby who may be unable to move or otherwise incapacitated. Ideally reduces blowback for teammates too but it could be interesting to have a teammate sacrifice themselves for another 2 teammates or so to carry on.
This sounds great, but grenades do little enough damage as is, heavily reducing knockback would allow for quick thinking to be able to save others.
Or even knocking enemies onto a grenade to kill the enemy and prevent you from taking damage.
It's the kind of thing that seems like it would be rare to occur, but glorious when it does.
