Cameras mechanics

While playing the game as an Intruder I kind of felt that cameras were a little bit overpowered. I didn't know if I was being observed and I couldn't do anything about it. I feel like cameras play a very important role in the game and that they could benefit from some more depth. Here are some ideas:

  • Changing the camera light color when someone is watching: This could add to the sneakyness of the intruder. He can't help being caught if he is in sight when a Guard starts looking, but he can try and read the behaviour. "Is someone looking every x time?" "Is someone looking at all?". Also he may know if someone saw him, which is still less informative than the information the guards have about him (his position) but adds to the meta.
  • Ability to hack/break/jam cameras: This still gives information to the guards, but incentives the Intruders to be more aware of the cameras. They decide if they give away their general position (but not their specific hiding place) or try to sneak around without taking action. Or maybe even take some action to make a bluff or a distraction.
    • Hack: show a camera stream, but maybe glitched or from another place entirely (detectable by a guard)
    • Jam: The camera stops working for a limited time, maybe only while a player is acting over it with a gadget
    • Break: The camera stops working
